Quick answer

  • Biggest free list: Kit, free up to 10,000 subscribers; visual automations and sequences need the paid Creator plan.
  • Most free sending: Sender, 15,000 emails a month to 2,500 subscribers, with email automation included.
  • Free automations plus a website: MailerLite includes 3 automations, a website and a landing page for 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month.
  • Big list, occasional sends: Brevo’s free plan is capped at 300 emails a day rather than a small list size.

  • 300+ integrations on every plan (vendor)

Listed A–Z by default. We do not rank tools we have not tested, and no vendor can pay for position. Starting price is the cheapest paid plan per month, using annual billing where the vendor offers it.

Notes on each tool

  • Mailchimp: the free plan has 1 seat and 1 audience. On its pricing page, Essentials and Premium show a price “for 12 months” next to an offer badge, without the regular price, so check the price at checkout.
  • Kit: free includes unlimited landing pages, forms and broadcasts, and lets you sell digital products. Kit says paying yearly saves 17%.
  • Sender: free includes newsletters, landing pages, signup forms and popups, with Sender branding. Sender lists 30% off annual billing for first-time users.
  • MailerLite: renamed its paid plans in June 2026: Growing Business is now Comfort and Advanced is now Power. The free plan includes 3 signup forms and keeps the MailerLite logo.
  • Brevo: pricing is built around emails sent, which suits large lists you email rarely. Starter removes the Brevo logo.

How to choose

  • Under 250 people: any of the free plans works; pick on templates and branding.
  • 250 to 2,500 people: Sender, or Brevo if you send infrequently, keeps you on a free plan.
  • Above 2,500: only Kit’s free plan goes further, up to 10,000 subscribers, without automations.
  • Automation is the point: compare paid tiers, since free-plan automation is limited or missing on most.
